Keith Cringle Sr.

Keith J. Cringle, Sr., 85, of Saranac, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country.
He was born in Saranac, November 25, 1940, the son of Jack and Elizabeth (Garrow) Cringle.
Keith drove tractor trailer and worked different jobs. Then he became a Correction Officer. Keith dedicated a lot of life to the Town of Saranac. He was Fire Chief over 10 years, took petitions up to start the Saranac Rescue Squad, was an EMT for years, and then he went into helping Saranac a different way, he was a Councilman, Supervisor, and Superintendant of Highway. He was even a Clinton County Legislator.
Left to cherish the memory of Keith are; his loving wife of 52 years, Myrtle Cringle; son, Keith "Bud" and Heidi Cringle; step children, Mark and Brenda Carter, Jeffery and Becky Carter, and Lisa and Lewis Shutts; numerous step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild; brother, Tom (Cindie) Cringle of New Symerna, FL; Bev and Ray Newell of Cadyville and Joyce and Larry Wolf of Palm Bay, FL; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene and Ben Defiette, and Pattie and Bernie Avrett; brother and sister-in-law, Jackie and Alice Cringle; two nephews; daughter, Laurie Cringle Rascoe; and two infant sons.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 19, 2025 at Noon, at St. Joseph's Church, Dannemora, with Rev. Michael Jablonski, parish priest, celebrating. Burial in St. James Cemetery, Cadyville, will be in the spring.
