Keith Doepker Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Family Life Funeral Homes - Pickford (formerly Galer FH) on Feb. 2, 2024.
With all the Grace and Love of God, Keith William Doepker joined his Creator and Savior on January 16, 2024. He was born on August 14, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, to parents Erving and Lillian (Hartwig) Doepker.
Keith grew up in New Hudson, Michigan, where he attended South Lyon High School. He married his childhood sweetheart, Becky Ann Sieting, on September 24, 1966, and began their family. They moved to Gaylord, Michigan, for three years as Keith worked as a barber. After receiving a job opportunity with General Motors, the family moved back to Detroit in 1971 where Keith worked as an electrician. He diligently worked for the next thirty-two years, retiring in 2002. Keith and Becky then moved to Moran to enjoy life in the upper peninsula.
Keith was an Elder at the Glen Memorial Baptist Church in St. Ignace, as well as a member of the Sportsman Club for youth.
Keith's life was marked by hardship, love, loyalty, and obedience. Not a perfect man, he was prone to practical jokes, stubbornness, and a temper-But Keith was a good man, loved and adored by almost everybody he came into contact with. His special gift was making people feel like they were loved, appreciated, and their lives were important to him. He was "pops" to every kid that met him, he was a steady anchor for many. He gave wise counsel and an open heart to everyone. He was the hands and feet of Christ. He would tell you he wasn't qualified to be an Elder at Glen Memorial Baptist Church, but he was exactly qualified. His passions, besides people, were hunting and fishing and all things outdoors- just being in God's creation. Keith's kindness and impact on the community will not be forgotten. We mourn his passing, not for his sake but our own, because he made life in this world so much better for those that knew him and called him friend.
Keith is survived by his loving wife, Becky; daughter, Kim; grandchildren, Adam (Amy) and Eric; one great-grandchild, Kate; as well as many other wonderful friends and family.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents, Erving and Lillian, and his son, Brian.
A Memorial Service for Keith will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Glen Memorial Baptist Church in St. Ignace, Michigan, at 11 AM with pastor Dave Davis officiating. Livestreaming will be available. Following the service, there will be a luncheon held for family and friends to attend.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations in Keith's memory to the Glen Memorial Baptist Church, 219 Truckey St. St. Ignace, MI 49781.
