Keith Robert Doney

Negaunee Twp, MI- Keith Robert Doney, 67, of Negaunee Township passed away on October 2, 2024, at UP Health System Marquette. Born on March 11, 1957, in Ishpeming, Michigan, he was the son of Mary (Heilala) Doney and the late Robert Doney.
Keith graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1975 and later earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Northern Michigan University. He was a self-employed general contractor, owning and operating K. Doney Construction for many years.
Keith was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming and the Ishpeming ELKS Lodge. He was an avid sports fan, enjoying teams such as the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Tigers, University of Michigan Football, and basketball, and MSU Basketball. He also cherished time with family and new grandson. He always enjoyed spending time at Lake Arfelin in Michigamme, MI.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lori (Rodriguez) Doney, whom he married on September 18, 1992, his mother Mary Doney, his daughters, Jessica Doney (James Spicer) and Michelle Doney (Kyle Justa); a grandson Anthony James Spicer, his sister, Sheila Fetter; nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, and close friends.
Keith was predeceased by his father, Robert Doney, his father-in-law Tony Rodriguez, his mother-in-law Kathy Jacobson, and his brother-in-law Tim Fetter.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Tim Johnston officiating. Public visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on the same day at Bethel Lutheran Church.
A luncheon will follow the service at the Ishpeming ELK's Lodge.
Memorial considerations may be directed to the Ishpeming ELK's Lodge #447 Scholarship Fund in memory of Keith.
