Chunk Joseph Doney

Chunk (Linwood J.) Doney, 82, of Northfield Falls, VT, passed away on May 26, 2025, surrounded by family.
Chunk was born at home in the Falls on January 31, 1943, with his twin sister, the son of Edward and Margaret (Legier) Doney.
Chunk attended Northfield High School and graduated in 1961. After high school, he joined the Air Force. He served four years in Minot, North Dakota, working on missile sites.
In 1967, Chunk married Marsha Davis, and together they had one son, Michael. Over their 58 years together, they enjoyed many trips camping, fishing, and enjoying their grandchildren.
For 42 years, Chunk worked as a bus driver and head custodian for Northfield Elementary and High School. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time, especially with friends, winning large fish and nearly one hundred deer. On a trip to Canada, Chunk got two caribou with one shot.
Remaining to cherish Chunk's memory are his wife, Marsha; son, Michael Doney and his partner, Rhonda Partlow; grandchildren, Michelle Doney and finance, Ben Tucker, and Logan Doney; siblings, Steve Doney and wife, Denise, and Linda Brodasky and husband, Joe; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Chunk is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Margaret; his siblings, Barbara Jenkinson and husband, John, Nancy Plastrage and husband, Wendell, Evelyn Wilson and husband, George, Harold Doney and wife, Janice, and George Doney and wife, Jackie.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Northfield Falls Cemetery, with Pastor Jay Voorhees officiating.
