Keith Alan Fatheree

Keith Alan Fatheree, 60 of Virden, IL, formerly of Girard, IL, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025, at his home in Virden, IL.

Keith was born July 5, 1965, in Mount Vernon, IL, a son of Billie Eugene and Anna (Mayberry) Fatheree. Keith graduated from Mt. Vernon High School with the class of 1983. He then attended Eastern Illinois University where he received his bachelor's in music education. Later, he attended the University of Illinois Springfield where he received his master's in education administration.

Keith worked a variety of roles within the Girard and North Mac school systems, ranging from elementary music to middle and high school band. Ultimately, he taught music for 31 years before retiring in 2020. Keith was known in the community for his love of music and teaching the next generation to love music, leading the band at football games, parades, concerts, and more. In his free time, he played trumpet at weddings and other events. He also enjoyed cooking for his family and passed on his love of cooking to them.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, 1:30 to 4:00 pm at First Christian Church, Girard, IL.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 4:00 pm, Sunday, September 21, 2025, at First Christian Church, Girard.

Keith is survived by his son, Ethan B. (Fiancée Brandi Broaddus) Fatheree of Greenwood, IN, son, Brendan J. Fatheree of Champaign, IL, son, Jackson P. Fatheree of Champaign, IL, brother, Billy (Pam) Fatheree of Mt. Vernon, IL, sister, Lanna (Kim) Logan of Centralia, IL.
