Keith Charles Germann

Keith Charles Germann passed away peacefully following a short illness at MercyOne on November 12, 2023 at the age of 69. The family will receive friends from 3:00-6:00 pm Friday, November 17th at Iles Dunn's Chapel where a Time of Sharing will begin at 5:30 pm.
Born February 6, 1954 in Storm Lake, Iowa, Keith lost only four basketball games his entire youth. He graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1972. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1977, and as a loyal lifelong Hawkeye, was honored to be included as a member of the Ashton Family 2022 University of Iowa Family Spirit Award. He worked as a dedicated CPA for his entire life and found joy in helping his clients succeed.
Keith married Deborah Davis on June 2, 1984 in Iowa City. They were blessed with two children who brought him never-ending moments of pride. Keith filled his life with stories and laughter through rec league basketball games and many rounds of golf. As an avid Cubs fan, his knowledge of baseball history, statistics, and the game were exponential. He loved talking sports with anyone that would listen, and as a true 'good ole boy' he had many friends with which to share in those conversations. He especially cherished his Delta Tau Delta Fraternity Brothers 'til the end.
Keith passed on his passion for The Grateful Dead to his son and the two of them enjoyed several concert trips. His final year was filled with Hawkeye basketball, football, Dead & Co. shows, little league spectating, and continued to obsessively nurture his home garden.
Keith is survived by his wife Deborah D Germann; children Heidi (Jeff) Mason, Gregory (Morgan) Germann of Davenport; grandchildren Jack and Fred; siblings Rob (Cindy) Germann and Marcy Gale, and many nieces and nephews.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents Larry and Jane Germann.
