Keith Alexander Ka'ohiai Ka'ahanui, 71 of Kapolei, Hawai'i passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on July 3, 2025, in Honolulu.
Keith was born on March 19, 1954, in Honolulu, HI and was oldest son of Bernard and Ashlyn Ka'ahanui.
Keith graduated from W.R. Farrington High School in 1972 and attended Church College of Hawaii (nka BYU-Hawaii Campus)
Keith's professional career began at Hawaiian Telephone Co and retired as a Cable Splicer. Keith went on to work for Aulani, a Disney Resort as a counselor for Aunties Beach House, a job he loved working with children from age 3 to teenagers for over 10 years. He retired from his second job and was currently working for Prime Flight as a wheelchair Attendant for over 2 years. He enjoyed meeting people. Keith was known for his infectious smile and sincere attitude that won many new friends.
Keith was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities. Keith was a return missionary, having served in the Arizona, New Mexico Spanish speaking Mission. Keith was a Boy Scout, earning the Eagle Scout Award, Silver Beaver and became a District Commissioner. Keith also served as an early morning Seminary Instructor for several years and was the first Bishop of the newly formed Kapolei Ward of the Makakilo Stake.
Keith was a sports fanatic and loved volleyball and started coaching PAL leagues then moved on the high school volleyball teams. His favorite NFL team was the Dallas Cowboys, and the LA Lakers is all time favorite NBA basketball team.
Keith is survived by his wife and eternal companion of 49 years, Winona Ka'ahanui, and their three children Jamie (Sheldon) Coen, Tracy (Jarrette) Beate, and Cy (Tristen) Ka'ahanui. Grandchildren are Seth Coen (preceded in death), Stanton Coen, Solomon Coen, Kawehionapua Coen, Samson Coen, Jersie Ann Beate, Jazzlynn May Beate. Siblings: Kevin (preceded in death), Kerwyn (Danette) Ka'ahanui, Kent (Telaya) Ka'ahanui, Kimberly Ka'ahanui, Justin (Juanita) Ka'ahanui, and Kahealani Ka'ahanui. A maternal Uncle Gregory K. Ka'onohi and two paternal Aunts: Haunani Orso and U'ilani Colon. With many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Keith was loved by so many. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Makakilo Hawaii Stake Center 92-900 Makakilo Drive. Viewing from 10:30-12:30pm service at 1:00 pm. Burial at 3:00 pm at Valley of the Temples.
