Keith Lundquist, age 72, of Colorado Springs, CO, formerly of Strandburg, SD, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from natural causes.
A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs, CO, on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. MST. Burial will be held at Tabor Lutheran Cemetery in Strandburg, SD, on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. CST.
Keith Sidney Lundquist was born on March 29, 1952, to Sidney Erland and Pearl Irene (Woolums) Lundquist in Watertown, SD. After graduating from Grant-Deuel High School in 1970, he went on to study music and psychology at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1974.
After graduation, he worked on an archeological dig in Israel for the summer. He then taught school (vocal and instrumental music K-12) in Drayton, ND, for three years. Keith and Jan Morrison were united in marriage in Great Falls, MT, on June 21, 1975, and later divorced in 1981.
Keith was the organist at Central Lutheran Church in Spokane, WA, for 16 years and Director of Music at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs, CO, for 20 years. He retired in 2019. Keith also worked for Overhead Door Company of Colorado Springs for 16 years.
Keith is survived by his brother, Darrel Lundquist and his husband, German, of Bloomington, MN; sister-in-law, Donna Lundquist of Wayzata, MN; along with many other friends and family members.
He was predeceased by his parents, Sid and Pearl; brothers: Larry, and Gary, in infancy; paternal grandparents, Ivan and Lydia Lundquist; and maternal grandparents, Bruce and Hulda Woolums.
