Keith Matherly Obituary
Vernon Keith Matherly, age 67, of Hillsboro Lane, Springfield passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Baptist Health in Louisville.
A native of Washington County, he was born May 10, 1956 in Lebanon to the late Carl Edward and Nancy Inman Matherly.
He was a member of the Willisburg Church of Christ, a 1975 graduate of Washington County High School and was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Grider Matherly on April 1, 2023.
Survivors include a sister, Phyllis Humes (Roy) of Springfield; two brothers, Carl Edward "Eddie" Matherly, Jr. of Willisburg and Billy Matherly (Rose) of Lebanon; a sister-in-law, Martha Dell Shewmaker of Springfield; five nephews, Wes Matherly (Michelle), Brian Matherly (Brenda), Mark Shewmaker, Allen Shewmaker and Chris Shewmaker (Dena); five nieces, Sarah Thompson (Brandon), Barbara Humes (James Sagrecy), Laura Bradshaw (Bryan), Brittany Matherly and Kelly Matherly.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16 at the Willisburg Church of Christ with Bro. Tim Wells officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wes Matherly, Brian Matherly, Brandon Thompson, Bryan Bradshaw, James Sagrecy, James Matherly and Hunter Edelen.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 Friday at the Carey & Son Funeral Home and after 12 noon Saturday at the church.
Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
