Keith was born on July 2, 1965, to Richard Poineau and Enid Waldron and was lovingly raised by his mother, Enid, and his adoptive father, Manley "Butch" Stowell. He graduated from Birch Run High School with the Class of 1983 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, where his strength and discipline earned him top recognition for physical fitness. After an honorable discharge, Keith attended the Police Academy through Delta College and devoted 26 years to serving Genesee County as a police officer before retiring in 2011. He was also a faithful member of Taymouth First Presbyterian Church in Birch Run. Keith loved karaoke, rock mining, and sports of all kinds, with golf being a particular favorite. He shared his love of music and humor as a valued member of 94.3 WKUF, where he was the host of The Dog House with K-Dog and beloved by listeners for his lively and unforgettable personality. Above all, Keith's greatest joy was his family - his children and grandchildren meant the world to him, and he never missed a single one of their sporting events. He was funny, full of personality, and never met a stranger. Keith will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

RIP Keith , you touched my and my childrens lives many years ago and even my family that met you. You were such a LIGHT for so many people including me, and I know that your light will forever shine.
I remember you saying the first time I met you doing Kareoke, " Hey Jules, " Don't Forget about me " and then you got up to sing that exact song :-) No one will ever forget about you Keith . <3

Your faith in God was inspiring , your love for your children & grandchildren, your family and all your friends was unconditional, and it showed in every beautiful Smile, in every hug you gave, in every joke that you told, in everything you did, because you did all of it out of compassion and love for everyone . You are missed always, but I know that your light will continue to shine through your children.
Love you Forever -
Julie Starland

You had the most amazing personality. I will never forget the time you told me you stopped a vehicle in the Farmer Jack parking lot for doing donuts in the wintertime. Expecting to find a teenager behind the wheel, you were surprised to find my 65 year old mother. When asked what she was doing, she replied "just wanted to see if I still had it". You laughed, said it would be a warning, and you were going to tell her son. RIP. You were an amazing person and a fantastic deputy.
