Keith Duane Sutton, 92, devoted husband of the late Joan V. Sutton, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
Born in Leesburg, IN, he was the son of the late Earl Sutton and Blanche Tom.
Keith and Joan met in grade school and graduated top of their class as salutatorian and valedictorian respectively. They were married in 1952 and started a family soon after, going on to raise their four children in Greenville, SC. Keith served in the Signal Corps during the Korean War before starting a career with Homelite, where he rose through the ranks to become Director of Engineering.
Keith loved spending time with his family, organizing annual trips to Murrell's Inlet and visiting his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren all over the country. An engineer to his core, he was always tinkering and found creative ways to solve problems large and small. He liked to stay busy and could often be found spending time in his tool-filled garage or working on his yard. He also enjoyed golfing, boating with his grandchildren, and traveling the world with his wife Joan.
He is survived by his sons, Bruce D. Sutton, Gary L. Sutton (Janie), Thomas "Tom" K. Sutton (Isabel); daughter, Susan M. Sutton; five grandchildren, Julie Sutton Poston, Katherine M. Sutton, Sarah E. Sutton, Rachel A. Sutton and Thomas R. Sutton; and three great-grandchildren, Caroline M. Poston, Olivia F. Sutton, and Finnley K. Sutton.
The graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024 in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
