Keith W. Whitemore, 49, of St. Johnsbury, VT passed away on January 20, 2024, at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
Keith was born on March 21, 1974, to Michael and Patricia (Garrigan) Whitemore in Clinton, Iowa. He spent his career as a network engineer. He loved his work because, in his words, “networking is how we all communicate.” He worked tirelessly when there was a network outage, not because he was inconvenienced, but because he worried about those who were isolated who could not communicate with their loved ones. Keith spent his life in various parts of the country but loved Vermont because he got to experience the change of seasons in the mountains. Because of his vast knowledge of networking, love of D&D, and all things gaming, his daughter affectionately coined him a “goofy nerd.” When asked how his family will remember him, those who love him simply said: “He was our Superman.”
Keith was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Whitemore. He is survived by his father Michael Whitemore; daughter, Tori “Boo” Whitemore; Tori’s mother Heather Whitemore and care partner James Young; and his brother Kevin and his wife Becky. Beloved by numerous cousins (He was the favorite!)
Visitation with the family will be held on February 3, 2024 from 2:00-3:00pm at Sayles Funeral Home in St. Johnsbury, VT. A memorial service will follow at 3:00pm at the same location.
