Kelby Walston Smith
Kelby Walston Smith, beloved son of the late Louis "Stoney" Parker and Marion Smith, was born on February 10, 1958, and was received into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Kelby was lovingly raised by his parents, the late Louis "Stoney" Parker and Lois "Honey" Parker. He received his formal education at Delmar High School, graduating with the Class of 1977. Shortly after, Kelby enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served proudly for over thirteen years. During his military career, he held various positions, including Platoon Leader, Sergeant, and Leader of the Junior Troops-roles he embraced with pride and discipline. Known for his sharp uniform, crisp creases, and polished shoes, Kelby exemplified the dignity and pride of a U.S. Marine.
Following his honorable service, Kelby returned home and earned his Commercial Driver's License (CDL). He began a career in trucking alongside his twin brother and was affectionately known among fellow truckers as "Captain Crunch" on the CB radio. He continued driving trucks until his health began to decline. In 2018, Kelby joined the Dove Pointe family, where he was warmly welcomed and worked until his full retirement in January 2025.
In 1992, Kelby met the love of his life, Charlestine Smith, and they were united in holy matrimony on August 14, 1993. Their love was strong and enduring, and they enjoyed traveling together-by ship, plane, or train. Their favorite tradition was taking an annual anniversary trip to Jamaica. Kelby also took great pride in maintaining a pristine yard, often boasting the sharpest lawn on the block. Another passion of his was collecting hats-he had one to match every outfit.
Kelby was preceded in death by his mothers, Lois "Honey" Parker and Marion Smith; his father, Louis "Stoney" Parker; one daughter, Barbara Stanley; one grandson, Brenden McGlotten; two sisters, Tanya Black and Nancy Custis; and three brothers, Everett "Bubby" Smith, Brooks "Mel" Parker Jr., and Dereke Bungy Sr.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory:

- His twin brother and best friend, Keith Smith
