Kelley Gavin Obituary

Kelley Jane Gavin, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the age of 61. She was born in New Albany, Indiana on May 12, 1963 to Jack Gavin and the late Mary Jane (Sprinkle) Perry.

She graduated from New Albany High School in 1981 and continued her education by taking classes at Indiana University Southeast.

Kelley loved music and attended concerts as often as possible. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Kelley was an avid fan of wrestling matches. In the 80's, Kelley loved big hair, dramatic makeup and going out on the town. She believed strongly that everyone deserved a chance to succeed and she dedicated much of her early life volunteering and supporting local charities.

Along with her father, Jack Gavin (Marilyn), Kelley is survived by her siblings, John Gavin (Gina), Cathi Reed (Bill); niece, Holly Gavin; nephew, Billy Reed; family members, Gayle Hobson, Dale Beanblossom; and well as many additional extended family members and many cherished friends.

Kelley's wish was to be cremated and a reception of family and friends will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Visitation will continue on Tuesday after 9:00 a.m. with a celebration of Kelley's life taking place at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest privately at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association. Please take a few moments to share a special memory of Kelley. Losing a loved one is a heartache that no one can heal, and spending time with a loved one leaves memories that no one can steal.
