Kelly Diane Bess Sells, beloved wife, mother, and "Mimi," finished her life on this earth and went home to be with the Lord on August 29, 2025, in
Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on October 30, 1958, in Pasadena, Texas, and finished her life anchored by her Christian faith.
Kelly was married to her devoted husband, Robert "Bob" Sells, and together they built a life of love and companionship. She cherished spending time with Bob, whether enjoying the comfort of home or traveling together to new places. She was the proud mother of her daughter, Megan Bess King, and son-in-law, B.J. King. Kelly's greatest joy was being "Mimi" to her five grandchildren-Ben (16), Ellie (15), Joe (12), Matthew (10), and GraceAnna (5)-who were truly the pride of her heart.
Growing up in difficult circumstances, Kelly learned resilience and courage early in life. She overcame many challenges with strength and grace, becoming a woman known for her generosity and love. She loved fiercely and could go to toe-to-toe with anyone, despite her petite frame. "Dynamite comes in small packages," she often reminded us. Kelly delighted in giving meaningful gifts, enjoyed the outdoors, and was a steady source of encouragement and kindness to those around her.
Kelly also brought joy to her Bible study group, Sisters by Grace, with her warm greetings, sense of humor, and funny antics. She had a gift for making others feel welcomed and loved, and she left every gathering brighter than she found it.
Kelly will be remembered for her giving spirit, her laughter, and the way she loved her family fiercely and faithfully. Her legacy will live on in the lives of her daughter and grandchildren, and in the countless people who were touched by her kindness.
A service celebrating Kelly's life will be held at Second Baptist Church in
Corpus Christi, Texas, on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to
Samaritan's Purse or
your favorite charity, in honor of her giving heart.
"She fought the good fight, she finished the race, she kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7
