Kelly Ann King, born on June 22, 1962, in Noblesville, IN, lived a life filled with love, joy, and a profound sense of compassion. Her soul was as vibrant and colorful as the butterflies she adored, her spirit as steady and reassuring as the lighthouses that fascinated her. A lover of literature, she found solace and adventure in the pages of her favorite authors, Danelle Steel, James Patterson, and Nora Roberts, to name a few. A generous soul, she delighted in the culinary arts, creating new dishes and tasting joy in every bite of her favorite meal, chicken and mac and cheese.
Though Kelly's body was confined, her spirit was boundless. Confined to a bed and wheelchair due to lupus and muscular dystrophy around 2010, she continued to live a life that was smart, loving, and robust. From the daily soap operas and prime-time shows she enjoyed, to her love for gardening, and her frequent visits to the library, Kelly embraced each day with courage and grace. Her love for family was unparalleled, a beacon of light that shone brightly even on the darkest days. Despite the physical distance, she was a constant presence on Facebook, staying connected with her loved ones and sharing in their lives. She had a soft spot for animals, cherishing the memories of growing up with dogs and later becoming a cat lover, though she had a distinct aversion to snakes.
Kelly will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Georganne King; her sister, Jenifer (Guy Daubenspeck) King; her cousin, James Jr.; and her Uncle Fred King and Aunt Joann King. She is preceded in death by her father, Clair King. Mark Twain once said, "The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time." Kelly lived fully, embracing every moment with a radiant smile, a hearty laugh, and a heart full of love.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 pm at Hartley Funeral Homes, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, Indiana, 46034. The Funeral Service will follow at 4:00pm at Hartley Funeral Home with Pastor Cindy Reynolds officiating.
Let us remember Kelly for the compassionate, loving, smart, and generous soul she was. To honor her memory, we encourage you to share your favorite memories and photos of Kelly on her memorial page. Let's celebrate her life and the joy she brought into ours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hartley Funeral Home to help with Kelly's funeral expenses.
