Kelly Rinfret Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 11, 2025.
Kelly Lynn Rinfret, age 46, of Modesto, California, passed peacefully on November 4, 2025. She was born in Fresno, California, and from the very beginning brought joy, laughter, and light to everyone who knew her.

Kelly is survived by her loving father, Doug Rinfret, and stepmother, Sally Rinfret, and their children; her devoted sister, Kimberly, and brother-in-law, Michael, and their children. She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine, whom she loved deeply and longed to see again.

Kelly lived her life with a big heart and a bright spirit. She was actively involved in community programs such as Break the Barriers and Special Olympics, where she made lifelong friends. She proudly earned medals in swimming, track and field, gymnastics, and paddle boarding. Kelly loved music and movies and could often be heard singing along to her favorite songs. She delighted in her impressive Disney movie collection. Among family and friends, she loved being the center of attention-sharing laughter, songs, and her joyful energy.

Before returning to California last year, Kelly lived in Miami, Florida, with her sister's family. There she was a beloved member of Old Cutler Presbyterian Church and created many cherished memories. One of Kelly's favorite ways to show love was through her art-she spent hours coloring beautiful pictures and gifting them to family and friends. Each one was a small burst of love.

Kelly's faith in Jesus Christ was central to her life. She often said that Jesus was her best friend. Her mother would lovingly say that Kelly had a direct line to Heaven and was the best person to ask for prayer. Kelly is now in the presence of Jesus, her best friend, enjoying Him forever.

All who met Kelly were touched by her gentleness, humor, and her signature thumbs-up of encouragement.

Kelly will be laid to rest at South Ridge Lutheran Cemetery in Ontario, Wisconsin, on Saturday, November 15th, at 10:30 a.m, and a service celebrating Kelly's life will be held at Old Cutler Presbyterian Church in Palmetto Bay, Florida on Sunday, December 14th. Her light, laughter, and love will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Kelly's memory to Break the Barriers (https://breakthebarriers.org/) or Christian Berets (https://www.christianberets.org/about-us).

"Well done, good and faithful servant...Enter into the joy of your Lord."
