Kelly Hinshaw Speer, 62, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. Kelly was born on November 24, 1962, in Forsyth County to the late Curtis Grady Hinshaw and Betty Jo Gough Hinshaw. Kelly loved her family and friends dearly and found great joy in the beach. She always looked forward to her crafting parties with her friends. Kelly lit up any room she entered and would spread happiness to all with her infectious laugh. As said by many of her friends, “to know Kelly, was to love her”. She had a passion for any and all reality TV and knew every detail of each show. Kelly was always sitting on go, ready to have a good time and be with those she loved. Along with the many family and friends that Kelly loved, she also deeply loved her fur babies and fur grand babies.
Those left to cherish Kelly’s memory include her husband of 41 years, David Speer, son, Mitch Speer (Nick), daughter, Jenna Speer, father-in-law, Leroy Speer, “Sistas” – Candy Austin, Gina Brown, Beth Doub, Terri Faircloth, Sandra Todd and numerous cousins. In addition to her parents, Kelly was preceded in death by her “Sistas”, Connie Cherry and Vivian Lawson.
The family will visit with friends on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
The family would like to thank the staff of Forsyth Medical Center for their dedicated care of Kelly.
