Kelsie Nycole Bryant

Kelsie Nycole Bryant was just beginning to navigate life's unpredictable curves, and realizing that the going wasn't so tough. Life's hills were even becoming less tough to climb. Yet God, in His infinite wisdom dispatched His angels and beckoned His sweet child home.
Kelsie, affectionately known as "KayB", "Kels" was born on October 19, 1996, to parents, Ms. Tara Latonia Jamison and Mr. Marvin Bryant, Jr. Kelsie with her "infectious smile" was called to be with the Lord at the tender age of 26 on Friday, January 27, 2023 in Columbia, SC.
Bethel A.M.E. Academy was the catalyst of her love of learning and academically strengthened her at Richland One District Schools, South Kilbourne Elementary, Hand Middle and as a proud graduate of Dreher High School in May 2014. Kelsie went on to further her educational career at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Cum Laude on May 31, 2020. While at S.C. State she was a proud member of the renowned "Marching 101" Band and the National Society of Leadership & Success (NSLS).
Homegrown, Kelsie began her professional career in Richland District One at Carver Lyon Elementary School as everyone's "Beloved" 3rd grade teacher. Kelsie loved her students and her students loved her. She will be deeply missed by her students, faculty and staff.
Kelsie was also a member of the National Education Association (NEA) and was pursuing her Master's Degree in Education.
Kelsie was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Ms. Gwendolyn LaVerne Dixon; her maternal great-grandfather, Mr. Johnny M. Dixon; her great uncle, Mr. Cecil R. Dixon; her paternal grandmother, Ms. Patricia Bryant; her paternal great-grandmothers, Mrs. Inez Scott and Mrs. Mildred Davis-Mack Johnson; her uncle, Mr. Marcus "Patrick" Bryant and brother Mr. Demetrius Bryant.
Her legacy will carry on forever reminding us of her sweet, sweet spirit. Kelsie is survived by both parents, Ms. Tara L. Jamison and Mr. Marvin Bryant, Jr.; siblings, Karson W. McLeod, Kenedi A. M. McLeod, Kara, Kallie & Kendall Langford and Marvin "Trey" Bryant, III; maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Eugenia S. Dixon; maternal grandfather, Mr. Damon Alston; paternal grandfather, Mr. Marvin (Algie) Bryant, Sr.; aunts, Mrs. Jeanna "Tricey" (Kelvin) McCray, of Charlotte, NC; Ms. Suzette Jamison, Ms. Marvetta P. Bryant and Ms. Amanda Bryant, all of Columbia, SC; uncle, Mr. Kantwan Garner of Columbia, SC; and a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins, family & friends all of whom will lovingly cherish and miss her forever!
