Ken Hammond, 78, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2023, with his wife, Jo Hammond, and their beloved Golden Retriever, Remy, by his side.
Ken was a native Denverite and graduated from Aurora High School. He will lovingly be remembered by his children, Cary (Beth) Hammond and Jill Hammond, and their families, including three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Ken was the youngest of five siblings and is preceded in death by brother Bob and survived by his sister Ivella Rempel and brothers Del (Flo) and Ray (Jo). Ken’s extended family includes Steve and Chris Katsaros, their families, and two grandchildren.
Ken owned Artisans Wholesale Stained Glass from which he retired. An avid reader, Ken enjoyed bicycling, traveling, playing golf, and cooking up meals in the kitchen with Jo. Ken was a foodie in the truest sense and enjoyed good wine or a cold pilsner. He will be greatly missed for his sense of humor and concern for others.
A celebration of the life of Ken Hammond will be held on Wednesday, August 23rd at 5:30 at the Boathouse in Washington Park. Friends and family are invited to come together to share memories, stories, and pay tribute to the remarkable life he lived.
