Ken-Shiang Kuo, age 70 of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, passed away April 22, 2025. He was beloved husband of Michelle; loving father of Jonathan and Michael (Marissa Levy); adored brother of Ken-Nan (Polly), Ru-Yue (Rui-Xing Lee), Ken-Liang (Shu-Mei Yang) and Shu-Fong (Chuan-Pin Lai); and cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. Ken-Shiang was preceded in death by his dear brothers Ken-Guang (survived by Mei'e Huang), and Ken-Xing (survived by Xin-zi Zhan).
Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Ken was the youngest of seven siblings. Ken married Michelle, whom he had known since middle-school, in 1980 - and subsequently moved to the United States the same year. A graduate of Tamkang University and the Illinois Institute of Technology with a B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering, Ken had a nearly four decade long career at Mogo, Inc., where he helped build the company with his dear friend Ming Wu.
Ken was a lover of classical music and frequently attended Lyric Opera performances in Chicago. He also had a passion for cooking and loved hosting together with Michelle. Ken's kitchen creations were adored, especially his multi-course Japanese meals. Ken most enjoyed spending time together with his friends and family, whether it was on the golf course, or while traveling the world near and far. Those in his life cherished his joyful and lighthearted nature. Ken will be dearly remembered for his warm presence, subtle humor, and dedication to loved ones.
A Memorial Celebration of Ken-Shiang's life will be held Saturday, May 17th, 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Sullivan Funeral Home, 60 South Grant Street, Hinsdale, IL. Interment Private. 630-323-0275 or www.sullivanfuneralhomehinsdale.com
