Kendra Ray Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A. D. Porter & Sons Funeral Home - Downtown on Mar. 9, 2023.
Kendra De'Shell Ray, 41, was born December 26, 1981 to Rochelle Denise Alvis (Ray) and Reginald Alvis at General Hospital in Louisville, KY. She passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023.
A beautiful, bubbly, hazel eyed, active, fun little girl who loved art, being in band, volunteering at nursing homes and dance. She was on the dance teams at Highland Middle and Waggener High School where she graduated.
Always the caring and loving individual choosing a career in nursing was no surprise. In 2008 she became an Alumnae of Galen College of Nursing. She flourished in her career, mastering her skills as an LPN to the point of proudly becoming a nurse manager.
For 15 years she not only took pride in caring for each one of her patients, she also loved and enjoyed them all as well as her work families, Hillcreek, Masonic Homes of Kentucky and other facilities.
Kendra adored children, traveling, spending time with her fiance` and grandbabies. Her parents, family, fiance`, friends and of course her little spoiled fur baby Gizmo all meant the world to her.
Forever loving and celebrating Kendra are her mother, Rochelle Alvis (Ray), father, Reginald Alvis; grandmothers, Suzette Bennett, Jane Franklin, Lucy Franklin (Hardy); her siblings, Amber Ross, Santana Harper, Troy Jackson, Rayvon Franklin, Kenneth Franklin, Jr., Keon Bundley, and Gary Wilkens; her aunt, (more like big sister) Dorothy Campbell and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial Service: 4pm Thursday, March 9, 2023 at A.D. Porter & Sons, 1300 W. Chestnut St.
