Kennedy Dodson, 68, of the Sacramento area, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, after going into cardiac arrest.
Born in January 1958, Kennedy was known for his humor and his love of making people laugh. He had a creative and playful spirit and whether he was telling jokes or performing his latest improvised advertisement, he enjoyed bringing laughter into everyday moments.
Kennedy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved a good plate of spaghetti, a game of pool or darts, and listening to Led Zeppelin. He was also a devoted fan of comedy legends Robin Williams and George Carlin, whose wit and perspective on life he deeply appreciated. One of his most loyal companions was his dog, Bodie, who brought him comfort and happiness.
Throughout his life, Kennedy faced many personal challenges, including battles with diabetes, depression, and addiction. While these struggles were part of his journey, they never told the full story of who he was. Those closest to him remember his humor, his creativity, and the way he could turn an ordinary moment into something funny.
He is survived by his daughter, Carissa; his beloved granddaughter; and his brother, Jeff.
Kennedy will be remembered for the laughter he shared and the moments of joy he created for others. In his memory, take a moment to tell a joke, enjoy a plate of spaghetti, hug your dog, or turn up some Led Zeppelin and remember him with a smile.
