Kenneth Lee Abshire, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025 at the age of 56.
A proud native of Louisiana, Kenny lived life with passion, joy, and an unwavering devotion to the people and things he loved most - his family, Cajun culture, and the open road.
Born in New Orleans on April 17, 1969, Kenny was raised in the heart of Cajun country, where he developed a deep love for the food, music, and traditions that would remain central throughout his life. A man who could season a pot of gumbo just right, Kenny believed good food brought people together and he was always happiest surrounded by loved ones around a full table.
Kenny had an undeniable zest for life. He rarely missed a chance to hit the dance floor when any good tune came on, his laughter ringing out like music of its own. Whether it was a family gathering, a local festival, or an impromptu kitchen two-step, he danced with the kind of joy that was infectious and unforgettable.
But perhaps nothing gave him more freedom and peace than the open road. A true motorcycle enthusiast, he spent countless hours on the open road- wind in his face, sun on his back - always chasing new horizons with the same fearless spirit that defined his life. His motorcycle wasn't just a machine; it was an extension of his soul. Kenny believed that "wind therapy" was the best therapy.
Above all, Kenny was a family man. His love for his children and grandchildren knew no bounds. He was a storyteller, a jokester, a teacher, and a protector. He lived for family gatherings, where he could pass on stories, traditions, and wisdom with a wink and a smile.
Kenny leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit lives on in every shared meal, every dance, and every mile traveled down a country road.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Katie Abshire and his children: Shelby Milstead & husband Brandon, Anthony Abshire & wife Breanna, Stephen Burke, Brittiney Raymer, Taylor Scott, Allison Scott, Kenneth Scott Jr & wife Savannah, Chris Stout & wife Samantha and Kahla Trammel & husband William as well as his sisters, Elizabeth Abshire & Melanie Abshire and mother, Verly Davies. Kenny also leaves behind many beautiful grandchildren as well as many nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Rufus Abshire and brother, Kirk Abshire.
Ride free, dance often, and laissez les bon temps rouler - rest easy, Kenneth.
