Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hodges Family Funeral Home - Dade City on Feb. 12, 2025.
Kenneth (Kenny) Edward Adams was born 11/18/1959 in Dade City Fl to his loving parents Marvin and Lucille Adams.
Kenny loved sports and excelled at baseball. Setting the Pasco school RBI record and being named to the all gulf-coast team as well as being selected as best defensive and offensive player during his high school career. Gene Nelson (Yankees,Mariners, White Sox, A's, Angels and Rangers) was his teammate and friend at Pasco.
He also had a productive college career where he took the field against several players who eventually played in the major leagues. He was teammates with future major leaguers such as Brian Dayett (Yankees, Cubs) who took him under his wing as a freshman, and they were spade partners on the bus road trips. Future General Managers JP Ricciardi (Blue Jays) teammate and Brian Sabean (Giants) coach we're also part of St. Leo's team. The toughest pitcher he faced was Jimmy Key at Clemson ( Blue Jays, Yankees). The only time he ever struck out 3 straight times. He did have better luck against future (Reds, Pirates) closer Bill Landrum at South Carolina. Kenny was a tough out and clutch hitter no matter the competition.
Kenny loved the woods and hunting especially chasing Deer, Turkey and Coyotes. Grandpa Gude and he hunted Spring Hill before it was developed. He spent many a weekends in the woods and cherished being in a favorite spot before daylight so he could witness God's creation come to life. He never considered himself a great photographer but literally has thousands of the best wildlife photos you could ask for.
He worked for 37.5 years at Withlacoochee River Electric as a lineman for 18.5 years, as an engineering technician and supervisor 11 years and as Job Training and Safety Director for 8 years. He was proud of his work and workplace and met so many loyal associates and colleagues.
He also graduated with his BA degree in Psychology from St. Leo University.
Kenny preferred to remain private with his life (especially hunting spots) but he loved his family most of all. He praises God for his family and considers himself so lucky that he always thought he was living in heaven on earth. He especially loved and cherished his brief time with his Granddaughter CMD (Carolyn) who always made him smile and he made her smile a lot too. He always thanked God during his battle with cancer that he got to meet her, she is his precious angel. He was a long ways from perfect as a husband and father and wished he would have hugged, kissed and loved them just a little more. They meant everything to him. He is survived by loving wonderful wife Brenda, son Tyler, daughter Taylor (Aaron), granddaughter Carolyn, parents Marvin and Lucille, brother Glenn (Stacey), nieces Cate and Lucie, sister in law Elaine, niece Christina, father in law Robert Beiersdorfer, four-legged friend Sabrina and too many fabulous cousins and aunts and uncles to mention all.
