Kenneth R. Amey, age 79, passed away on July 15, 2025. Born and raised in Woodbury, Ken graduated from Woodbury High School in 1964. He lived in Woodbury until moving to West Deptford in 2002.
Ken began his career working at Ace Ford in Woodbury. He then worked for the City of Woodbury Water Department. Ken went on to work on tugboats in the Delaware River with the Seafarers International Union in Philadelphia, PA, where he worked for 20 years. He later returned to the City of Woodbury, as a street sweeper and sanitation truck driver, eventually retiring from public works after 26 years.
A member of American Legion Post #133 in Woodbury, Ken enjoyed woodworking and selling his crafts at local shows. He also participated in car shows with his 1955 yellow Thunderbird. Most importantly, Ken maintained strong friendships with his Woodbury High School classmates and cherished monthly lunches with them.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol (Trainor); his son, Joseph Amey; his siblings, Barbara (Jim) Bengel, Diane (the late Bud) Cunnard (the late Rick) Bocchino, Ronald Amey (the late Terry), and sister-in-law Diane Amey. He was predeceased by his parents, Bertha Amey and Daniel Amey Sr., and his brother, Daniel Amey Jr.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Those desiring may make a contribution to the Greater Woodbury Cooperative Ministries Food Pantry at https://gwcm.org/online-donations.

Carol and Joe my condolences to you both for the loss of your husband/father. I didn't know Ken very well, but loved the wooden items that he made and donated to our church for our yearly tea. RIP Ken.

Carol and Joe, so sorry to hear of Kenny's passing.
My fondest memories are seeing him walk up the stairs, in Aunt Sis' house, on his hands and when he'd take the neighborhood kids for some ice cream.
And of course, it was always nice coming to Christmas Day Open House.
My thoughts are with you both.
