Kenneth Ray Argenbright, 76, of Churchville, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026 at his home.
He was born in Harrisonburg on June 19, 1949, a son of the late Allen Clifford and Helen Virginia (Eavers) Argenbright.
A Christian, Kenneth attended West Augusta United Methodist Church, where he was baptized and held membership. Kenneth was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed time spent hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and pitching horseshoes. He was a member of the Staunton Moose Lodge #1635, where he served as trustee for many years, and as a US Army veteran he held membership with AMVETS Post 511. Kenneth had retired as the owner and operator of Argenbright Firewood and had also worked alongside his father and uncle, Dennis at Argenbright Sawmill.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Michael Ray Argenbright.
He is survived by sisters, Phyllis Argenbright of Staunton and Mary L. Carroll and husband, J.D. of Stuarts Draft; brother, Gary Allen Argenbright and wife, Marie of Churchville; nephews, William Argenbright, Brandon Argenbright, and wife, Betty, and James Rawley and wife, Cierra; nieces, Brandy Argenbright and Megan Snyder and husband, Travis; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as countless friends.
A graveside funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2026 in West Augusta Cemetery, with Mr. Gary Armstrong officiating.
Pallbearers will be David Armstrong, Brandon Argenbright, William Argenbright, Morgan Garner, Robert Hildebrand, Bobby “Leapy” McManaway, James Rawley, and Roger Huffman.
The staff of Obaugh Funeral Home will receive friends who wish to pay their respects throughout the day, 9-5, Thursday, March 5, 2026.
Memorial contributions may be made to West Augusta Cemetery, 26 Deerfield Valley Road, West Augusta, Va. 24485.
