Kenneth P. Balquist

Kenneth Paul Balquist, of Wrentham, MA, passed away suddenly but peacefully at home on January 8, 2025, at the age of 64.
Ken was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Robert and Lillian (Bova) Balquist. He was raised in Norwood, MA and graduated with the class of 1978. After earning a computer degree, he made his career as a Systems Support Analyst.
Beloved husband of Claire Curran-Balquist; Ken and Claire were married for 36 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two cherished daughters: Christine E. Balquist and Hannah K. Balquist. He is also survived by a sister, Carol M. Balquist of Hull, MA, and a brother, Robert J. Balquist Jr. of NH. Additionally, he leaves behind many in-laws, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
Ken was a loyal and kind-hearted man. He was quiet, conscientious, and dependable. He loved working in his yard where he grew beautiful zinnias each year, starting them from seed. His yard and upkeep of his home's exterior reflected his pride and hard work. He was happiest outdoors: cutting his lawn and listening to sports radio. He also enjoyed hiking. Each birthday and Father's Day included exploring a new location with his family and carefully referencing the trail maps. He loved a good map. Other interests included history and sports. When asked which holiday was his favorite, he would decisively reply "Super Bowl Sunday." In his honor, the family asks that you raise a toast to him at kickoff this February 9th.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, January 15th from 4 PM to 8 PM at Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Church, 130 South Street, Wrentham.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken's memory may be made to the Massachusetts Audubon Society.
