Kenneth Arnold Beacham, of Clinton passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 23rd. He was 74.
Born in New Brunswick at St. Peter's Hospital on August 17th 1950, Ken was significantly brain damaged from seizures he experienced at 6 months of age. He was a beloved resident of the Hunterdon Developmental Center in Clinton. Moving in on October 23rd 1970, Ken moved between five cottages in the first 15 years. Then in 1985 he was placed in Cottage 13 and found his forever home.
Ken enjoyed car rides, listening to music, going for walks, his home in Cottage 13, relaxing on his couch and visits from his family and friends. Although he was non-verbal, Ken knew how to get his point across and communicate effectively. He loved his direct care givers over the years and they all loved him as well.
The family would like to express their gratitude toward the staff of the Hunterdon Developmental Center for their love, dedication towards Ken and for treating him like family up to his passing. He was a special guy with a priceless laugh that came down from the heavens and brought joy to the lives of his family, friends and everyone that knew him and made everything feel right in the world at that moment. He will be dearly missed.
Ken was predeceased by his loving father and mother, Judson D. Beacham in 2008 and Elva C. Beacham in 2016.
Surviving are his brothers and sister-in-law, Barry D. Beacham of Dayton, New Jersey and Judson D. Beacham, II with his wife Betty of East Dorset, Vermont; sister, Barbara L. Beacham and her partner, Karen Hansen of Aitkin, Minnesota; and nieces and nephew, Justin and Jennifer Beacham and Tracy Salmon.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 26th, 11 AM at Franklin Memorial Park, 1800 Route 27, North Brunswick with burial to follow.
Please consider in lieu of flowers donations in his loving memory to the ARC of New Jersey, 985 Livingston Avenue, North Brunswick, New Jersey 08902, or visit www.arcnj.org.
