Kenneth L. Bennett “Boogie”, 92, of Rossville, KS died on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Rossville Health and Rehab.
Kenny was born on April 11, 1933, in Blaine, Kansas, the son of Leo C. and Mary G. (Morris) Bennett. He attended local schools and graduated from Rossville High School.
Kenny served his country honorably in the US Air Force and fought in the Korean War.
Kenny was married to Norma Reicherter on July 6, 1955, at Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka, KS; she preceded him in death on July 16, 2025.
Kenny is survived by his son, Mark Bennett, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, sisters, Mary Homan of St. Marys and Judi Merriman of Lawrence, and his sister-in-law, Edna Bennett of Topeka, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Norma, his parents, sons, Dennis Bennett and Randy Bennett, his daughter, Yvonne Pollman, and his brother, Gale Bennett.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 6 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 703 Main St, Rossville KS 66533 with a visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial in Rossville Cemetery with military honors will take place following the mass. A luncheon following the burial will be held at the American Legion Post #31 in Rossville.
Memorial contributions in Kenny’s memory may be made to the Jimmie Lillard Post No 31 of the American Legion and may be sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St., St. Marys, KS 66536.
