Kenneth A. Brayford of Searcy, Arkansas joined the Church Triumphant on May 14, 2025. He died peacefully at the age of 86.
Ken was born on August 4, 1938, to Kenneth G. and Vivian O. Brayford of Collinsville, Illinois. He was predeceased by two older sisters, Jane A. Brayford Scott of Starkville, Mississippi and Julaine A. Brayford of Collinsville, Illinois. He is survived by two nieces and a nephew, Sarah A. Scott Shindala of Collierville, Tennessee, Elizabeth M. Scott of Greensboro, North Carolina, and John D. Scott of Ridgeland, Mississippi. His family also includes Sarah’s husband, Mark J. Shindala, and their two children, Matthew and Katelyn.
Growing up in Collinsville, Ken had many interests, including music, model trains, friends and the family’s pets. Upon graduation from high school, Ken attended and graduated from the University of Illinois.
Subsequently, he began a career in business working for such mainstays of the St. Louis area economy as Swift and Company and McDonnell Douglas. After retiring from McDonnell Douglas, Ken moved to Searcy, Arkansas where he formed and nurtured many friendships and lived the rest of his life.
Ken loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his church, family, friends, and pets, including his long-time best friend Chuck Bogan and his most beloved little dog Kirk. He will be remembered as a kind-hearted, funny and giving person.
The family requests any contributions in Ken’s memory be made to the Humane Society of Searcy, 112 W Johnston Rd, Searcy, AR 72143, to further its mission. Additionally, remembrances of Ken can be posted on Legacy.com.
