Kenneth J. Cain, of Reading, passed away on Thursday January 27, 2022. He was 80 years of age. Born in Somerville, Kenneth was the son of the late Lester and Doris (Ballou) Cain of Stoneham. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. Ken grew up in Stoneham and then resided in Reading, where, in 1975, with the help of his wife, he founded Cain Oil Inc, which is still the family-run business. He really enjoyed going to the harness races in Maine and spending summer time at the family cottage in Ocean Park. He also enjoyed going to Foxwoods and then Encore with his sister, Joan, and frequently made trips to The Villages in Florida, with his wife, Diane, to visit his brother and wife. He was known by all as caring and helpful, and he had a wonderful sense of humor. Family and friends always enjoyed his joking and colorful way of telling stories that always brought many smiles and laughs. Loved by all who knew him, he will be truly missed by all of his family and friends. Kenneth was the beloved husband of Diane (Hobbs) Cain. He was the devoted father of Debbie Belanger and her husband John, Sharon Pietrillo and her husband Michael, Pamela Duval and her husband Kevin, John Cain, and Jennifer Richmond and her husband Jim. He was the cherished grandfather of Rhiannon Rossi and her husband Scott, Steve Belanger and his wife Lory, T.J. Duval and his wife Melissa, Samantha Duval, Joseph Duval, Skylar Cain, Christopher Richmond, Jeremy Richmond, Rachael Richmond, Brenda Pietrillo and Shaina Pietrillo. Loving great-grandfather of Marisa Rossi, Tyler Rossi, Devin Duval, Danny Duval, Aliyah Belanger and Lilliana Belanger. Dear brother of Warren Cain, Joan DeSano, Linda Ulrich, and Theresa MacKeen. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service Celebrating Kenneth's Eternal Life will be held on Wednesday February 2nd 2022 in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM at 11 am. Dear Cain Family, Ken was one of the most compassionate people and business persons I have ever experienced! My memory of Ken goes back to my family living on Dean St Stoneham. Living from pay check to pay check and Ken always being understanding of late payments. He was always there when we had a problem with our outdated furnace. With out a doubt, he was one of the kindest persons in the business, which has carried on to his children. My deepest condolences, just a classy guy!

A Southern gentleman here in the North. That cowboy like drawl and then that great laugh. My oil man for years. My partner and I did a few Cain 'gigs' over the years DJ-ing their various parties. A beautiful family and we always looked forward to those events. My sincere condolences...

So sorry to hear about Kenneth. We were never that close but I always appreciated how he treated my mom and dad {Irene and George}. He was there for them every time they needed his services.
I'm sure he will miss.

So sorry Linda and Theresa for your loss. Kenny services my mom (the late Joan machado) and serviced myself. I've known him for years always kind. And would help out when he could. Kenny was a good man and a sense of humor too. I'm sending the entire family prayers.
