Kenneth Richard Calhoun

Kenneth Richard Calhoun, 84, of Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Born in Casey County on March 18, 1941, he was the son of the late Howard and Vora Eades Calhoun.

Kenneth loved to sing and play the guitar. He was always on the go and loved to make jokes and cut up. Kenneth enjoyed playing golf, collecting coins, and working out in his garage. He worked in construction, including paint spraying and cement finishing. He also helped to construct the Kennedy Space Center. Most of all Kenneth loved his family and spending time with all of them.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Madonna Clarkston Calhoun of Liberty; son, Richard (Cathy) Calhoun of Somerset; daughters: Angela Brown of Somerset and Brenda Melson of Columbia; brothers: Larry (Cheryl) Calhoun and Stanley (Beverly) Calhoun, all of Indiana; sisters: Elise Fields, Alice Burns, Frieda (Wendell) Caudill, and Cheryl (Stanley) Henry, all of Indiana: grandchildren: Kim (James) Goad, Heather (Mike) Kinman, Beth Stocking, Tyler Calhoun, Matthew Calhoun, Brittney Calhoun, and Lindsey Howard; great grandchildren: Kayla Goad, Cheyenne Kinman, Christian Kinman, Camron Kinman, Briella Stocking, Azariah Stocking, Jase Calhoun, Nayeri Calhoun-Boyd, Gracie Evitts, Bella Evitts, and Sophia Evitts; a host of nieces and nephews; and his special dog, Simba.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his daughter, Donita Wright; brother, Lawrence Calhoun, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM, Tuesday at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 1:00 PM with Bro. Donald Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyler Calhoun, Matthew Calhoun, Mike Kinman, Larry Calhoun, Stanley Calhoun, and Travis Calhoun. Honorary Pallbearers are James Goad, Christian Kinman, Calvin Marsee, and Camron Kinman.
