Kenneth Allen Carpenter

CARPENTER, Kenneth Allen - Age 84, of Flushing, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 25, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, Swartz Creek (The service will be live streamed at can be viewed via Kenneth's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Pastor Jeffrey Glover officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 4-8 PM and Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Kenneth was born December 14, 1940 in Flint, the son of Leslie and Doris (Shenck) Carpenter. He was a 1959 graduate of Flushing High School. He married the love of his life, Joann Marie Bauders July 27, 1963 in Flint. He had resided in Flushing his entire life. Kenneth retired from the Flint Township Fire Department as a Fire Marshall after 25 years of service; he also owned and operated with his wife, Joann J & K Canvas for 40 years. He was a member and deacon at Harmony Baptist Church in Burton. He was Ordained Minister, He enjoyed classic cars, boating and golfing.

Surviving are: his wife of 61 years, Joann; children, Kelly (Mike) Prince and Nancy (Steve) Uptigrove; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son, Todd Carpenter; and brother, Dennis Carpenter. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
