Kenneth Harper Carvan, age 75, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, February 13, 2026, at his daughter’s home in Oakland, MS.

A service to celebrate his life will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope, MS.

Kenneth was born on September 18, 1950, in Batesville, MS to the late Gerard Watters and Ava Lillian Phillips Carvan.

Kenneth enjoyed a fulfilling career as a retired purchasing agent, known for his keen intellect and dedication to his work. He was not only an industrious professional but also a remarkable problem-solver who could fix just about anything. Outside of his career, Kenneth pursued many hobbies with fervor. He had a passion for tending to his vegetable garden, especially growing tomatoes, and took great pleasure in caring for his property. Riding his four-wheeler and spending time on his tractor brought him immense joy, reflecting his love for the outdoors.

Kenneth is survived by his devoted daughter, Suzanne Carvan Thomas and her husband David of Oakland, MS; his son, Brandon Carvan of Oakland, MS; and his sister, Pat Carvan McGregor of Enid, MS. His legacy also lives on through his eight cherished grandchildren: Hannah Ragon, Austin Avant, Maegan Avant, Nathaniel Carvan, Nicholas Carvan, Dylan Carvan, Hunter Carvan, and Ava Carvan, as well as two great-grandchildren, Ashton Mullen and Luke Avant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerard Watters and Ava Lillian Phillips Carvan, as well as three brothers: Gerald Carvan, Homer Carvan, and Willie Carvan.
