Kenneth Hendrick "Rick" Colville, III, 77, of Kalispell, Montana, died on February 16, 2024 in Tocopa, California. Rick was born on February 4, 1947 in Carbondale, PA to Kenneth Hendrick Colville, Jr and Jean McWilliams Colville. Rick was the great-great grandson of Eli E. Hendrick. E.E. Hendrick was the former mayor of Carbondale and founder of the Hendrick Manufacturing Company.

He graduated from Ben Franklin High School in Carbondale in 1965. After graduation, Rick attended Penn State University and served in the Navy; after which time he moved out west to a land he truly loved. Rick held many jobs throughout the years, including short order cook, bike mechanic, climbing instructor and surveyor. He did surveys of the Rocky Mountains and the Alaskan Pipeline. He was an avid climber and he taught many, many friends to climb over the years. Rick was truly a free spirit. He lived a nomadic lifestyle out of his conversion van traveling throughout the west.

Rick was a member of the Friends of Red Rock Canyon and was active with the Save Red Rock organization in Blue Diamond, NV. Rick was an avid Broncos fan and he loved to read crime and mystery novels. He also loved to watch "Law and Order".

Rick is survived by siblings Jeffrey (Julie), Andrew, Kathryn Gardner (Gerald) and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother David, nephew Ian and niece Lisa Lisowski.
