Kenneth Harry Cordon, 97, of Chanute, KS, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center. Born on April 15, 1928, in Pawnee City, Nebraska, to Oscar G. Cordon and Pearl (Shaw) Cordon.

Kenny lived a vibrant life filled with stories, music, and a deep sense of service to others.

Kenny excelled as a Motor Winder for an electric company in his earlier years before dedicating the latter part of his career to Kustom Signals, where he continued to make significant contributions until his retirement. His professional life was a testament to his strong work ethic.

A proud veteran, Kenny served his country honorably in the United States Army with the 180th Infantry Regiment - 45th Infantry Division. This experience marked a pivotal chapter in his life, and he remained actively involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars as a lifetime member. His dedication to service extended beyond the military, as he was also an engaged member of Faith Bible Church, where he found purpose and fellowship.

Kenny married the love of his life, Donna Howard, on October 31, 1956, in Humboldt, KS. She preceded him in death in 2012. He was a brilliant and talented man whose vibrant personality captivated many people. He possessed a remarkable gift for storytelling that kept audiences hanging on his every word for hours.

His interests were as diverse as his talents; he had a passion for collecting gas engines and artifacts from the black powder mountain men era. One of his greatest joys was singing and playing his guitar, which he did in honor and glory to the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna, who shared with him a life full of love and memories. Kenny also mourned the loss of his brother, Lloyd, and sisters, Dorothy Rosenkrans, along with an infant son, Matthew G. Cordon.  He is survived by one sister, Joan Hanaka of Hiawatha, KS., and several nieces and nephews, who will carry forward his spirit and the lessons he imparted throughout their lives. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his stories, music, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
