Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Stephen Ralph Cordon returned to our Father in Heaven on September 15th, 2025 at the age of 83. He was a resident of
Boise, Idaho. He has been looking forward to this reunion with his parents Nuel L. and Vergia Leona Cordon and siblings Verjean Cordon Burton, Jay Nuel Cordon, Patti Kay Cordon and Michael David Cordon. He most fervently looked forward to being with his Father in Heaven and his Savior, Jesus Christ. He married the love of his life, Linda Kay Leonard, on May 24, 1968 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. Together they had six children, 25 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. We have had the utmost privilege of calling him Dad, Pops, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Ralph, BC, Corky, best friend, and mentor.
Steve never met a stranger. He could and did talk to everyone that crossed his path -showing Christlike love through each of these interactions. He found joy in going to his grandchildren's sporting events and in spoiling his family with treats. He had a great passion for serving with the youth and helping them gain life skills and testimonies of Jesus Christ. He took his young men and family boating, to the beach, and camping. One of his biggest passions was hunting with his son and grandsons and just being in the mountains. Steve could often be found playing card games with his family, serving in the church, the prison, and working with those in the Addiction Recovery Program. Steve served two missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints: the first in the Uruguay, Montevideo mission while in his youth and the second in the Lima Peru Temple mission with his wife while in his sixties.
We will dearly miss him in our daily lives. The hole he is leaving is real and felt deeply. We find comfort in the knowledge that he is pain free, happy, running around without his boot, catching up with his parents and siblings, and watching over his family still on this earth. Thank you, Dad, for all you have taught us and for your never-ending love.
Dad, Do you know what... We sure do love you! And look forward with anxious hearts to the day we will all be together again.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Verjean Cordon Burton, Jay Nuel Cordon, Patti Kay Cordon and Michael David Cordon. He is survived by his six children Julie Kay Crawford, Kimberly Cordon Smith, Kaylene Cordon Allred, David Stephen Cordon, Emily Verjean Torquato and Kristine Cordon Evans.
