Obituary for Kenneth L. Decker
June 4, 1940 – December 2, 2025
Kenneth L. Decker, 85, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, in
Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Born on June 4, 1940, in
Erie, Pennsylvania, Kenneth lived a full and hardworking life defined by devotion to family, pride in his work, and a spirit as steady as the road he loved to travel.
After serving in the U.S. Navy, Kenneth stepped off his ship in Long Beach, California, in 1963-and California became home for most of his life. He spent his career as a truck driver, a profession perfectly suited to his independent nature. He truly enjoyed being on the road, finding peace and purpose in the miles he traveled.
Kenneth was also a devoted Los Angeles Dodgers fan, rarely missing a game and cheering with unwavering loyalty. But among the many chapters of his life, one of his most cherished roles was being known as "The Peach Man." Owning and caring for his peach farm was his passion. Whether he was tending to his trees, harvesting fruit, or baking his famous pies, peaches brought him joy-and he shared that joy generously with others.
Kenneth's life was filled with music as well. He loved karaoke, and it became a treasured part of who he was. He even had a karaoke bar at his wedding many years ago, celebrating with laughter, song, and the people he loved most. One of his favorite songs to perform was Kenny Rogers' "She Believes in Me," a tune that reflected the heart and sincerity he carried through his life.
Kenneth's days were also enriched by the animals he loved. He enjoyed his pets so much that several of his dogs traveled the country more than the average person. He is survived by one of them, Buddy, whom he adopted over ten years ago. Buddy rode faithfully beside him in his truck throughout Kenneth's driving career and remained his loyal companion into retirement.
Hardworking to his core, Kenneth was known in his family as one of the toughest men they had ever known. He stayed busy, always moving with purpose and drive, yet beneath that grit was a quiet tenderness revealed in his care for animals, his dedication to family, and his generosity of spirit.
Kenneth is survived by his children:
• Jennifer Williams of Oak Hills, California, and her spouse Stephan Williams
• James Decker of
Lake Havasu City, Arizona• Kristina Decker of Portland, Oregon
He is also survived by eight grandchildren-Caleb and Cameron Williams, and Sarah, Edward, Maddox, Mickenzie, and Nathan Decker-as well as six great-grandchildren who brought him immense pride.
He is preceded in death by his father, Al "Jim" Decker, and his sister, Debbie Garcia (Al).
Kenneth's legacy lives on in the family who loved him deeply, in the stories of his determination, and in the memories built under the warm sun of his peach farm. He will be profoundly missed.
