Kenneth Dison Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bridges Funeral Home on Oct. 1, 2025.
Kenneth E. Dison, Age 89 of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully Friday, August 29, 2025. We rejoice that he is now at rest in Heaven with so many loved ones that have gone before him.
Ken was born June 19, 1936, and grew up in southern Arkansas and across the state line in northern Louisiana. This is where he met his wife of 50 years, Peggy Bridges. Work kept them traveling quite a bit in their early years of marriage until a job brought him to East Tennessee, where he fell in love with the Smoky Mountains. Kenneth finally felt he had found a place he could call home.
His work here took him all over the back roads of East Tennessee. He came to appreciate the history and people of East Tennessee, and that appreciation led him to become a host and guide at the James White Fort during his earlier retirement years. He enjoyed woodworking and time with the family.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; daughters Kimberly and Kristi; parents Walter and Emma Dison; and brothers Gene, Jack, Keith and James Dison.
Kenneth is survived by daughters, Karen (Greg) Lusk and Kerry (Robert) Parton; grandchildren Kaitlynn (Dillon) Smith and Aaron Lusk; upcoming great-granddaughter Eleanor Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Jefferson Park Nursing Home (Franklin and Rogers Cottage), as well as the staff of Smoky Mountain Hospice, for their wonderful support and care of their dad during his time with them. Your kindness and patience were amazing.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Bridges Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor David Collins officiating.
Family and friends will meet on Wednesday at 12:15 PM at Bridges Funeral Home to go in procession to Greenwood Cemetery for a 1:00 PM Graveside Service.
Memorials in Kenneth's memory may be made to the Pat Head Summitt Foundation for Alzheimer's treatment and research.
