Kenneth "Kent" Lawrence Douglas, age 60, of Maumelle, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022. He was born in Clarksville, Arkansas on September 29, 1962, to J.C. and Theresa Douglas.
Throughout his life, Kent loved sports. His athletic success allowed him the opportunity to play basketball and participate in track and field in college. His love of the game continued into adulthood where he went on to referee AAU Basketball for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf and tennis. He formed the "Douglas League" with his tennis buddies: Tim, Phillip, Jack, and Bill at the Little Rock Racquet Club. However, Kent's true passion was found in teaching. Kent spent over 32 years passing his knowledge and experience in business and finance down to students at John Brown University, Webster University, Arkansas Tech University, Central Baptist College, and University of Arkansas – Pulaski Technical College. Above all, Kent loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Kent will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Kent is preceded in death by his father J.C Douglas and his sister Denise Rogodzinski.
Kent is survived by his wife, Melissa Douglas; children: Stacia Harmon, Kate Douglas, Connor Douglas, and Dylan Douglas; grandchildren: Emery and Blakely Harmon; mother, Theresa Douglas; brother, Mark Douglas; sister, Debbi Franklin; and many more extended family members and friends.
The family requests memorials be made to The Pug Rescue of Northwest Arkansas in honor of Kent's beloved Sophie.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 12, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076.
