Kenneth Scott Freitag II

Kenneth Scott Freitag II, of Whittemore, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 7, 2025, age 43. Ken was born on September 23, 1981 in West Branch to Kenneth and Catherine (Enos) Freitag I. Ken was a husband, a father, and a good man. A short time lived, but a big time impacted. Although he was only 43 years old, his family's love and memories of Ken will last forever. He was always the first to jump up and help a brother in need, even if it meant the shirt off of his back. A rough and rugged man on the outside, but his kind soul always seemed to peek through. He was such a loving husband, a supportive father and a good friend; he would never skip a beat if it needed to be done, it was done. He worked until his last breath, stubborn as hell, fighting until the end. Ken graduated from Tawas Area High School with the class of 1999. He proudly served our country with the United Sates Army during the Iraq War in OIF III, as a Sergeant E05. Ken was honorably discharged in 2006. He was an employee of Crossroads Citgo Station for almost 2 years. He will be forever cherished and remembered by everyone who knew and loved him! Ken is survived by his beloved wife, Sarah Freitag, to whom he married on May 20, 2004. Ken is also survived by his 4 children, Wyatt, Kenny III, Joselynn, and Garrett; his father, Kenneth Freitag I; his sister, Jessica Freitag; his father and mother in law, Paul and Sue Anderson; his sister in law, Morgan Anderson; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many special friends. Ken is preceded in death by his mother, several uncles, and his grandparents. Funeral services for Ken are scheduled for Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Buresh Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Wallace officiating. His family will welcome friends for a time of visitation on Thursday at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral.
