Kenneth W. Furst, 81, of Thomasville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on October 15, 2025.
Born in York, PA, Ken was the son of the late Franklin Furst, Sr. and Catherine (Trostle) Furst. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and spent 30 years working at Caterpillar Tractor Co. in York. Ken was a dedicated member of UAW Local 786, where he served as UAW Local 786 Retiree Chairman, and he worked part-time as a truck driver with P.A. Small Co., Kinard Trucking, and various jobs at Morningstar Marketplace.
Ken was a proud member of the Pleasureville American Legion, East Berlin VFW, and Hanover AMVETS. He was known for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, and love for his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Hannelore (Hanna Topper) Furst; his children Mark Furst, Lisa (James) Eveland, Beth (Terry) Landis; and stepchildren Heather (Kevin) Neiderer and Kenneth (Jenelle) Hartsock, Jr. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces who will cherish his memory.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Franklin Furst, Jr., sister-in-law Barbara Furst, and his son Todd Furst.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at John H. Keffer Funeral Home, 2114 W. Market Street, York, PA. A service will follow at 11:00 AM, with full military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. A gathering will be held afterward at the UAW Hall, 3562 Gillespie Dr., York, PA. Burial will be private.
