Kenneth Michael Gipson, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on June 14, 2025, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on April 16, 1969, in Little Rock, and lived a life rich in love, creativity, and passion. Kenny was known for his gregarious personality and his ability to connect with others.
He was a proud graduate of Catholic High School for Boys in 1987 and furthered his education by obtaining an associate's degree from ITT Technical Institute. Kenny was not just a protector of his loved ones but also a person who engaged in imaginative pursuits.
Despite challenges in life, he embraced every moment with an easy-going spirit. Kenny had a diverse array of interests; he loved Garfield comics, which affectionately earned him the nickname "Pooky." He had a passion for the martial arts. His love of cooking led him to a dream of owning a food truck. Additionally, Kenny found joy in fantasy gaming, where he could immerse himself in worlds of adventure and creativity.
He leaves behind his siblings: Lance Gipson (Pam), Bob Gipson (Darla), Tina Walden (Mark), Bryan Gipson (Sarah), and Theresa Nix (David); aunt, Carmen Long, and uncle, Pat Nahlen. The warmth of his extended family included many step-siblings, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He shared a special bond with Jim Castleberry, affectionately known as Pop, who played a significant role in his life.
Kenny is preceded in death by his mother, Anita Castleberry. As well as his uncle, Michael Nahlen, and aunt, Joan Nahlen.
A visitation to honor Kenny's life will be held on June 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main Street). The family invites all who were touched by Kenny's life to join them in celebrating him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arkansas Food Bank.
