Kenneth Edward Gorham, Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on Oct 16, 2024. He was born in Ypsilanti, MI on September 30, 1951 to his loving parents, William Robert Gorham, Sr. and Stella Jane Maleski Gorham.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his two children, Jessica (Scott) Webb of Cleveland, TN, and Kenny (Anastasia) Gorham of Clermont, FL; four grandchildren, Megan Webb and Tyler Webb of Cleveland, TN, Carson (Nicole) Gorham of Norfolk, VA, and Eden Gorham of Clermont, FL. He is also survived by his siblings, Bill (Janice) Gorham, Jr. of Ypsilanti, MI, Judy (Mike) Miotke of Hartland, MI, Karl Gorham of Brighton, MI, and Laurie Piper of Belleville, MI, 14 nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother in law, Jim Piper, of Belleville, MI.
Ken's early childhood years were spent living on his grandparents' farm in Willis, MI. Ken often referred to that time period as the happiest time of his life. He was a 1969 graduate of Belleville High School.
Ken was an incredibly proud U.S. Army Veteran, having served in Germany and Vietnam. During his time in service, he received several honors including The Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and The Bronze Star Medal.
Ken worked many years in the automotive industry, but found true joy when he began a new job working for his nephew at B & M Tower Technologies. He loved working side by side with several of his family members for 16 years until he retired.
He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening, hunting with his dad, and spending time at the motocross track with his son and nephews.. He also loved to be on the water, whether it was boating, fishing, or riding his jet ski. He was an avid sports fan who, in good times and bad, rooted for the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Lions.
Most importantly, he was the most loving father and grandfather, and our hero. He would do anything for any one of his family members. He worked and sacrificed his entire life for his children, who were so incredibly blessed. He will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 22 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at David C. Brown Funeral Home in Belleville, MI with the funeral following at 7 PM. A graveside service will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI on Wednesday, October 23 at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to St. Jude’s's Children's Research Hospital, a charity Ken supported for years, or VFW Post 5587.
