Mr. Kenneth Ray Grantham, Sr., 74, of Roseboro, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton with his family by his side.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Freedom Baptist Church with Reverend Adam Capps officiating. The burial will follow at Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Freedom Baptist Church. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home.
Mr. Grantham was a native of Sampson County, the son of Grover Grantham and Ruby Naylor Grantham. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Courtney Rae Grantham. He was a charter member of Freedom Baptist Church and an ordained Deacon. He was a 1969 graduate of Roseboro Salemburg High School and also graduated from Durham Barber School. He served in the Army National Guard for 6 years and retired from Smithfield Packing after 37 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 52 years, Glenda Matthews Grantham of the home; a son, Kenneth Ray “Ken” Grantham, Jr. and wife Ashley of Roseboro; a grandchild, Kenneth Ray “Trey” Grantham, III of Roseboro; a sister, Mary Linda Hicks and husband Frank of Apex; several nieces and nephews; a host of special friends; and a special fishing buddy, Nelson Crumpler.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Freedom Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 338, Salemburg, NC 28385.
