Kenneth Edward Grotjan

Mr. Kenneth Edward "Kenny" Grotjan, 73, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 AM in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home.
Kenny grew up in New Franklin, MO. A job offer with Carolina Telephone brought him to Greenville in 1978. He continued to work with Carolina Telephone, later Century Link, for 42 years, until his retirement in 2014. Kenny's work took him and his family to Martinsville, VA and Youngsville, NC for a number of years, before returning to Greenville in 2013. He was an active member for many years at Arlington Boulevard Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Kenny was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs, ECU, and Duke basketball. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and participating in their many activities and hobbies.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Alma Grotjan; and a brother, Dennis Grotjan.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elaine Braswell Grotjan; daughter, Melanie Grotjan Miller and husband, Mike; son, Daniel Grotjan and wife, Mandy; grandchildren, Mason, Mackenzie and Madison Miller, and Jackson and Dalton Grotjan, all of Winterville; sisters, Carol Jordan and husband, Bob, of Santa Clarita, CA, and Sharon Hackman and husband, Wayne, of Excello, MO; brothers-in-law, Pat Braswell and wife, Brenda, of Surfside Beach, SC, Larry Braswell and wife, Jane, of Inman, SC, Art Braswell and wife, Kimber, of Sarasota, FL, and Phil Braswell and wife, Kelly, of Charleston, SC; and many nieces and nephews.
