Kenneth Kelso Hansen, age 65, of Myton, passed away November 18, 2025, at the Provo Rehab and Nursing Center after complications of a stroke.
He was born June 20, 1960, in Powell, Wyoming, to Howard Earl and Beverly Ann Beall Hansen. His mother raised his family alone. Because of this, he held her in the highest regard and cherished his relationship with her.
Kenneth married Michele “Shelly” Uresk on April 29, 1990, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Kenneth was an inventor and salesman of parts for oil and gas wells. He had such a wonderful outlook on life. His loss is devastating to those who knew him and worked with him in the industry. He also brought IMCA Racing to the state of Utah and was the director of the Wild West Modified Tour which visited 8 different states in the Western Region. Over 300 different drivers from across the country made starts in the series. The series held over 100 races from 2007 to 2022 at tracks in Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, and California. He made so many friends along the way, he will be deeply missed.
Kenneth was an avid gambler and took the chance to go to Dinosaur, Colorado; Wendover and Las Vegas as often as possible. He also enjoyed all of the BBQ parties and being around friends and family.
His favorite job/hobby was farming. He loved the animals and working the land. Kenneth liked to push peoples buttons and argue with them just to get a rise! But he helped his friends anyway he could. He made sure everyone was well cared for, especially his children – he loved to spoil them!
His sense of humor never left, even while at the rehab center, he was the staffs’ favorite, “somehow”...?
Kenneth is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Shelly, of Myton; children, Lori Hansen (Joseph Dill), Colorado; Lisa Hansen (Aaron Thomas), Tyler (Amanda) Hansen, both of Pennsylvania; Chase & Dustin Hansen, both of Myton; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Melanie (Bob) Neff, Charleston, WY; Howard & Shonna Hansen, Casper Wyoming; Hans & Glenda Hansen, Watford City, ND; Caesar Hansen, Denver, CO; Richard Hansen, Greybull, WY; Tracy & Marivic Hansen, Mills, WY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
His wishes were to be cremated and the family will have a Memorial Service at a later date.
