Kenneth Hebert, 99, died peacefully on December 15, 2025, from natural causes at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, VT.
He was born on December 3, 1926, to Albert and Bessie (Bean) Hebert and was one of seven children. Ken was a World War II Army veteran who served in Korea for 3 years. After returning home, he married Christine Auer in 1949. They celebrated almost 75 years of marriage before Christine's death in 2024.
Ken was a career auto mechanic, retiring from Shearers Chevrolet at the age of 62. He was well known for his incredible tenor voice, which was shared on a weekly basis with the St. Mark's Church congregation where he was a chanter.
His family includes his daughter, Kathleen Hebert of Worchester, MA and daughter, Karen Fay and her husband Patrick of Jericho, as well as their three children, Nicholaus and Emmi Fay and their son, Devon of Hinesburg, VT, Rebecca Chakifoux and her husband Tim and their two children, Yvette and Ellery of Hinesburg, VT, and Bennett Fay and his wife Melissa of Colchester, VT. Ken also had a son, Kenneth Hebert, Jr. (deceased 2025) and his wife Kate and their two children, Thomas and Erin of Massachusetts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 29th at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Church in Burlington. Inurnment and military honors will immediately follow in New Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
