Kenneth Heddens Obituary

Kenneth Louis Heddens, 79, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, at DuBois Nursing Home.
He was born in Williamsport on May 13, 1945, the son of the late Kenneth Louis Heddens, Sr. and Zenadia (Plont) Heddens.
On Aug. 17, 1968, he married the former Gail Ann Hock. They enjoyed 56 years of marriage. Gail survives and resides in Punxsutawney.
Mr. Heddens was a member of the Army National Guard for six years prior to his honorable discharge.
After his time in the Guard, Ken, found his passion in operating heavy equipment in the coal mining industry, where his attention to detail and skill made him a highly respected figure on every job site he worked. He took great pride in his work.
He enjoyed spending his free time outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting, gardening or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home. In his retirement, he began the hobby of making wine, and those who got to sample it said he was good at it.
In addition to his wife, Gail, he is survived by two children, Jamie Michael (Tania) Heddens of State College and Megan Leigh (Michael) Kucharski of Punxsutawney, and one grandson, Zachary Michael Heddens.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
